Invasive Testing

Know the condition of the framing timber

Property Reports invasive testing provides an opportunity to see the condition and sample the framing timber for quality, and moisture content.

It’s destructive. But only minimally.

To check the frame 2 small holes (6mm )are drilled through the skirting board to a depth of 80mm and one 10mm hole in the wall lining.

Direct sampling of the framing timber.

From the two holes in the skirting board we can measure moisture content assess timber hardness and colour of shavings.

Through the 10mm hole we can measure humidity levels and if the insulation allows, take images of the surrounding timber surfaces.

After the test the holes are filled but not sanded or painted.
